Study stays and internships

As part of your studies at our faculty, you will gradually complete various specialized courses that will develop your artistic skills. In addition, you can also take advantage of internship opportunities at Czech and foreign universities during your studies. In order to travel on an internship and earn credits for successfully completed courses, a small amount of bureaucracy is required. For this purpose, our faculty uses an electronic application system.

Below you will find an overview of all available internships and stays that you can participate in. For all types of internships and stays, there are specific years and semesters when you can complete the internship. At the same time, there is a precisely defined type of application that you must submit for each type of study stay or internship.

The electronic application is usually submitted before departure and after returning from an internship or study stay.

One rule applies to all internships. In addition to the subjects you study at the host institution, you must also remotely study FFA courses listed in your electronic index.

When can I go?

What about courses during the internship?

Compulsory subjects Studio, Master's Studio, MA Design Studio, Professional Internship Report, Semester Projects Presentation and Public Presentation of a Project will be recognized based on the subjects you complete at the host institution. Other compulsory subjects must be completed in agreement with the teacher.

At the beginning of the academic year, you will register for compulsory optional courses as usual. Compulsory optional courses will then be recognized if you complete a course with similar content at the host institution. In this way, you can fulfill the requirement to complete the entire group of compulsory optional subjects in a given semester. If you do not complete such a subject, you must register for and complete compulsory optional subjects from the given group at FFA.

Other courses completed at the host institution will be recognized as optional. If you register for additional courses at FFA, you must complete them according to the conditions set by the teacher.

What should I do before departure?

Discuss your intention to travel with your studio supervisor. They must know about your stay in advance.

Print out the following document or obtain a confirmation of admission and have it signed by the dean or associate dean of the host institution.

Submit an Practical internship in the Czech Republic in StudIS and attach the above-mentioned confirmed document.

Once your application has been approved, you can travel to the Czech Republic for your study stay.

After starting your studies at the host institution, it is strongly recommended that you contact the Vice-Dean for Academic Affairs. Based on a consultation regarding the content of the courses you are studying at the host institution, it will be possible to determine which courses will be recognized as which CO course groups upon your return. Based on preliminary recognition, you can then request the cancellation of the relevant FFA CO courses that you will no longer need.

What should I do after returning?

Before returning to FFA, request a transcript of completed courses from the host institution at the end of the semester.

Submit an Recognition of practical internships in the Czech Republic for recognition of courses and attach the relevant confirmation.

After your application has been processed, check your electronic index and study plan to see if all courses are enrolled.

When can I go?

What about courses during the internship?

Compulsory courses Studio, Master's Studio, MA Design Studio and Studio Practice will be recognized based on the courses you complete at the host institution. Other compulsory courses must be completed in consultation with the teacher.

Submit an Application for Erasmus+ foreign internship recognition and attach the Confirmation of Erasmus+ Study Period and Transcript of Records certificates.

After your application has been processed, check your electronic index and study plan to see if all courses are enrolled.

When can I go?

What about courses during the internship?

You will complete the compulsory subjects Studio, Master's Studio, MA Design Studio, Professional Internship Report, Semester Projects Presentation and Public Presentation of a Project in the selected studio of the second program.

You will complete other compulsory subjects, compulsory elective subjects, and elective subjects in the same way as during a regular semester.

What should I do before departure?

Discuss your intention with your studio supervisor. They must be informed in advance about your stay in another program. Make arrangements with the head of the studio you want to attend. Without their consent, your application will not be approved.

Submit an Application for an internship in a foreign atelier in StudIS.

Once your application has been approved by the head of the host studio, you can start attending the selected studio.

What should I do after returning?

After successfully passing the final exams, you will receive credits as if you had completed a normal course. You do not need to submit any further applications.

When can I go?

You will complete the compulsory subjects Studio, Master's Studio, MA Design Studio, Professional Internship Report, Semester Projects Presentation and Public Presentation of a Project in your chosen studio.

You will complete other compulsory subjects, compulsory elective subjects, and elective subjects in the same way as during a regular semester.

When can I go?

What about courses during the internship?

Instead of the compulsory subjects Studio, Master's Studio, MA Design Studio, Professional Internship Report, Semester Projects Presentation, Public Presentation of a Project and Studio Practice, you will take subjects from the Visiting Artist's Studio.

You will complete other compulsory subjects, compulsory elective subjects, and elective subjects in the same way as during a regular semester.

What should I do before departure?

Prepare a portfolio to attach to your application for enrollment in the Visiting Artist's Studio.

Once your application has been approved, you can start attending the Visiting Artist's Studio.

What should I do after returning?

After successfully passing the final exams, you will receive credits as if you had completed a normal course. You do not need to submit any further applications.

Practical internship in the Czech Republic

This type of internship can only be completed during the summer holidays.

Submit your application for Practical internship in the Czech Republic in StudIS

Once your application has been approved, you can start your internship.

What should I do after returning?

By August 31, submit an application for Recognition of practical internships in the Czech Republic with confirmation from the institution where you completed your internship.

If you do not have confirmation, submit your application anyway. You can add the confirmation later.

Once your confirmation has been recognized, you will receive credits for the internship completed in the current academic year.

Practical internship abroad during the summer

This type of internship can only be completed during the summer holidays.

Only stays lasting at least two months can be recognized.
