Whilst studying at FaVU, you will also undertake English language classes as part of the Czech degree programmes.
To successfully complete your studies, you must achieve the required level of English. However, for both Bachelor's and Master's programmes, there are various ways to meet this requirement.
You can meet the English language requirements by completing a course. However, the faculty offers courses at different levels of English. To help you choose the right level of English – and therefore the right course – you should take a placement test.
Language proficiency test
Log in to your StudIS and you will find the test itself under the Language proficiency test tab.
The results of this test can help you choose the appropriate level of English.
Bachelor's degree programme
Courses taught in English are enrolled during the enrolment period for Optional courses.
To successfully complete your Bachelor's degree, you must pass a course at English level B1 or above (English B1, English B2 or English Language Exam – B1, B2).
English B1 (lower level) courses are preparatory only; completing these courses does not meet the required level of English proficiency.
The course English B2 (1UPPV-L), which concludes with a exam, may be taken only after successfully completing the course English B2 (1UPPV-Z), which concludes with a credit.

Master's degree programme
During your Master's degree programme, you must complete at least two courses taught in English in your first year.
Courses taught in English belongs to the group of compulsory-optional courses Compulsory-optional courses in English.
There are separate groups of courses for the winter and summer semesters from which you can choose.
You select the courses you wish to take in English when registering for Compulsory-elective modules.
